A great workshop, super friendly pair of guys who certainly know their way around a bike! Had mine serviced a couple of months ago and it's been ticking along perfectly. Support this fantastic local independent bike shop!
Went to SBC after a hearing a lot of great feedback from riding buddies and wasn't disappointed. Kind enough to answer my endless questions and then built me an outstanding pair of wheels at a keen price. Recommended.
I've visited SBC a few times for various parts and a few small maintenance and repair jobs on my bike. Even if you only spend a few minutes in the shop its clear that for Jamie and Mark bikes aren't just a job but a passion, and this is reflected in the way that they approach their work. With a 'no job is too big nor too small' and 'can do' attitude I found them welcoming, informative and interested in providing the right service for me and my bike, rather than trying to 'up sell' expensive parts which I didn't need (though their range of high end components is also pretty impressive!)... Despite their thorough knowledge of all things bicycle related, I've never felt patronised or belittled when visiting them, unlike certain other bike shops where I've often been frustrated at being made to feel stupid by staff... SBC take pride in their work, and are always welcoming, honest and thorough. I can't recommend them highly enough, and will always make the trip from south London when I need to!
One-of-a-kind bike shop ran by really friendly folk.
Excellent service, best dudes, so helpful and friendly. Built a custom Brother for me,runs like a dream, they modified a rack for the front. Highly recommend this place for any aspect
Cool shop that is very customer focussed and also not overpriced. The guys are knowledgable and my bike is always perfectly tweaked in there too
Shop looks great, friendly staff, got me back on the road in no time! Thanks guys! Definitely use again and recommend to all my friends!
Great independent bike shop with friendly, helpful staff found me what I was looking for
had two sets of custom wheels built by these guys and they also put my last bike build together , all perfect and still running like new - shops amazing and staff helpful and really friendly ...I pop by sometimes just to say Hi and see what's new - I'll never go anywhere else from now on ...
Your go to Bike Shop... For all Wheel Building skills and Great Service in a Fantastic Shop SBC is the only place you will return to again and again.
Great mechanics, great dudes, totally original bike shop. Had a custom build done in the summer at very reasonable price, been running like a dream for over 8 months now. Also worth going down on a Thursday eve to catch a semi regular dj set -- and check out the impressive interiors.
You can always rely on the boys to do a solid job with excellent advice too. I never considered getting my bike worked on but after it was done it felt like a slick new whip :) Highly Recommended thanks.
SBC is one of the best bike shops in East London if not the whole of the city. I would highly recommend paying them a visit!
Cool shop.. Great mechanics and best tunes!
Great little self-made independent bike shop. Perfectly kitted out workshop, quick turnaround and friendly staff. The way a bike shop should be. Rather then selling you new stuff, they will fix it for you. Competitive prices too.
I have had many a bike built by Mark and Jamie over the years. The bikes have evolved with my needs. From fixed gear lo pro, to cannondale tourer for riding through the Loire Valley in France, to carbon mountain bike for the perils of Epping Forest, to the latest easy riding ladies bike, keeping me riding to work till 8 months pregnant! Now with a little one in tow, I hope to be back on the bike soon, looking forward to my latest SBC creation :) Thanks guys!
Awesome shop! Mark helped me choose a new bike and fit everything for me. See you for my next service :)
fantastic shop! Honest and helpful service. Recommend to everyone.
Been here a few times for small and big jobs, a coupla times jobs other shops have not been able to tackle. As well as being super fast and good mechanics they are also very inviting and friendly. Also a sick space with an arcade machine and cool art is on the walls.
Some of the best mechanics I've found in London, been taking all my bikes there since it opened and been perfect service everytime
No bulls*!#. Fast honest professional service. Wont go anywhere else now. Thanks guys.
I haven't cycled for years, so went in to SBC with only a vague idea of what I really wanted for a new bike. I got straight up, great advice from both the guys there and they built me something custom using a second hand Cannondale Mountain Bike frame set up as a town bike. It's super comfortable and I totally love it... Feels great to support an honest independent business where you feel like they really care about whats best for you and your budget...
Jamie and Mark are some of London's best bike mechanics. They have looked after many of my bikes in getting them race ready and sometimes at such last minute moments. The prices are highly competitive, it's nice going somewhere and not feeling ripped off when you walk out but instead having a great experience, a nice chat and most importantly a rad working bike. Highly recommend that even if these guys are not your local bike shop, you should make them your local bike shop.
Great bike shop and very friendly service! Went it at 6pm after work and they did the work I needed there and then with no need to book the bike in. Will definitely be returning for an future work to be done to my bikes.
It's a far cry from the common cycle shop. In all the good ways. I've went there to change a broken brake cable and met Jamie, extremely helpful chap, who told me the same thing I was told in my previous cycle shop: most of the parts needed replacing. But unlike the other store he didn't try to sell me a bike and instead gave me a very competitive price to exchange the parts and do all the work and to top it up he even clean the bike without me asking. The cycle is like new, especially the rear brake that my old servicer never - ever period - ever - got right. I will be coming back over and over again for anything cycle related in the future and I advise you to do the same - support local business
These guys are awesome. Went in for a couple of bits, got all of them. Also asked about a chain and cassette for my bike, they said they could do it today. Two guys that are passionate about bikes who went above and beyond for me. To reiterate what another reviewer said it's a far cry from the blandness of the chain shops. Use these guys!
They are just great! Quick, fantastic job on the bike and really friendly!
Well my lovely old Cannondale bike which is actually 25 years old and well loved, but neglected was lovingly and excellently restored just a few weeks ago and I love it to bits now. It rides and feels fab again. They did such a good job. Professional, attentive and effective. I love my bike again.
Great guys who really know their stuff around a bike. Quick honest and awesome!
My beloved Brompton bicycle with a flat, where to go and get it fixed? Well I found this gem of a bike shop on the internet in the N1/Hackney area. It's an independent bike shop which is great, owned and run by two very friendly guys. The shop is filled with bicycle memorabilia and I loved the vintage chopper. Well worth a visit and very competitive prices. I would definitely use them again.
A bike shop is only as good as the mechanics who work there. In this case, they're bloody brilliant.
Living just across the road I thought I would try my new local bike shop. I needed a headset and forks fitted to a newly revamped bike. Dropped it off and popped home to collect some extra bits that were needed and when I returned it was virtually done. BB chased and faced all done while having a chat. This is such a refreshing departure from large chain, clueless bike shops. Give them a go, you won't be disappointed!
Great mechanics who really know what they are doing and are very helpful
SBC is the perfect local bike shop. Jamie and Mark know everything there is to know about bikes and they have a fantastic work shop with every tool you could think of. Last month the guys built me a brand new dynamo hub equipped wheel in two days - very speedy. Yesterday I took a wheel with a broken spoke into the shop. 20 minutes later I had a working wheel. Thanks guys!
Unquestionably the best bike shop in London. Proper mechanics doing a proper job. Cool guys to boot. View and reply
Nice honest guys, quick and efficient, polite and the best thing is its very local to me..Not a rip off shop...
I had my bike built here. Shop is rad, super friendly, independent and well stocked- a far cry from some of the other places dotted around the area. These guys were only too happy to share information and chat about my bike as they worked on it, the workshop is right in the window so you can see what they're doing as they do it- both the guys in the shop are mechanics and have been around for ages. It's nice to know the person fixing your bike owns the place and cares about the service you get. Would definitely recommend!
How a bike shop should be. Quality workmanship, quickly done, for a fair price by guys who know and ride bikes. Walked in, got a buggered star nut replaced there and then and was back on my bike in under 10 minutes. This area sorely needed a decent bike shop and this is it.
They put the rad in radial.
